I-10 Travel In December

Have to make a coast-to-coast trip to FL this Dec. Leaving m/h in Arizona. Are there any weather-related problems I should be aware of? Thanks for any information

RE: An Alternative To Tire Covers? (Something less expensive)

Had a friend who purchased 4 RV sunshades (the kind that you can roll into a circle) just like the one's used in autos. He puts them on end in the wheel well of each wheel. The tire keeps the wind from blowing it one direction, the wheel well the other

RE: Christmas Decorations

We go all out, as we did when we had a stick home. Last Christmas had 1200+ mini blue lights outlining nearly the entire coach, a 7' pre-lit Christmas tree on the patio, an acrylic snowman (lighted) on the roof, snowflake "clings" on the front, along with a lighted wreath.

RE: Spliter for 50 amp service

w8yxm and LetsRV have it right. What a device! Have had it for 2 years now and it is really slick. I have noticed however that a lot of RV parks are taking the 20-amp plug off the pedestal to defeat this system. Thousand Trails are famous for this.

RE: We've Got A Chipmunk!

Thanks for the input Rollincool. Haven't checked the trap yet. Emptied the belly boxes and put a small bowl of water alongside a trap and pnut butter. Will check

RE: We've Got A Chipmunk!

Thanks folks....for the humor and the tips. Seems to me like the way to go is what I did. Set TWO rat traps last night baited with peanut butter. Since we nearly got him the night before seems he is avoiding the interior of the coach. Will trap the belly boxes also. Sorry, can't think too seriously about being humane. Sooner or later the little bugger's food stash will run out and he will discover some wiring.

RE: We've Got A Chipmunk!

Thanks Gary. Sitting in Yuma at the army FAMCAMP. Will check with the on-base vet to see if maybe they have a small animal trap. I figure it must have a "stash" of food in the belly box cuz' it can't get to anything in the coach. I'm just afraid it will run out of stash and think maybe the wiring looks good.

We've Got A Chipmunk!

Left the Wenatchee National Forest about 2 weeks ago. Found evidence of chipmunks (droppings) in belly box. Sat for a week in Bend, OR and left belly box doors open. Last night the brazen devil came into the coach and was drinking from the dog's water dish. Nearly got it but alas, I missed. Anybody have any ideas what to do to eradicate the little imp? Not particularly interested in being humane, just want it gone.

RE: Roof Leaks

Buy you some ProFlex. It comes in a pint can and has the consistency of honey. Apply to all seams with a paint brush. Dries clear and has been very effctive for us

RE: Portable Propane Campfire - Comparison

Have had the New Frontier for years and wouldn't be without it. Didn't go for the SS model because I couldn't justify the price difference for a "chrome" one. Am very satisfied with the heat output - usually use it early mornings and have the flow kinda low and sorta' hunker over the flames.

RE: Carpet Replacement Recommendations-Dutch Star

We went thru the carpet hassle/cleaning and took the plunge and replaced the carpet with wood flooring. To us it is a much better looking and more practical floor. I joke with my DW that instead of a vacuum cleaner now all we need is a leaf blower. PM me if you'd like to see pics.

RE: Internet Service for Fulltimers

We decided on the MotoSat four years ago and are really pleased. Have to be real picky about which site you select so you can get a clear view of the southern sky but it's worth it....especially on rainy/cold mornings when I see folks walking by our coach with their laptops heading for the lodge so they can get on-line. Expensive initially but really pays for itself

RE: HWH Hydraulic Problem

I would recommend going to the HWH homepage. There are manuals you can download for FREE and contain a super troubleshooting guide. I once had problems with jacks and I downloaded a 17-page manual!! Much better than the paragraph or two that was in the coach manual

Washington/Oregon Hwy 97 Closure?

Hi folks. Plan on driving from Yakima, Wa to Bend, OR on Hwy 97. Was told today that highway 97 is going to be closed down south of hwy 84 for three months only the person didn't know when it goes into effect. Anybody current on that info? Thanks in advance, Jack

RE: Sewer Solution system

Have been a VERY satisfied user for 5 years. I may run a little slower but it is very effective. The water stream that enters the discharge if very powerful and breaks up "stuff" very well. No more stinky slinky to contend with. The discharge hose is a smooth bore and running water through it ensures that it is cleaned out. No corrugated ridges as in normal standard sewer hoses.

RE: Roof leak

Get a can of ProFlex sealer. Has the consistency of honey, applies with a paint brush and dries clear. Marvelous stuff and not as labor-intensive or expensive as some other products
